RIRC: Recordatorio Trabajo Final

Recuerden que su trabajo final se entrega el 5 de mayo de 2017, antes de medianoche, por Blackboard. No se aceptarán trabajos fuera de tiempo ni por medios distintos. El trabajo es un ensayo de 1,500 a 2,000 palabras de algún tema de relaciones internacionales relacionado con su país asignado, y la rúbrica está acá.

Ese día estaré en el salón de clases de 9 a 11 AM para asesorías.

RIRC: Reposición de clase, Museo Jumex (Abril 29)

Nos darán una presentación de la exposición titulada "Dramatis Personae: El Instituto de la Telenovela" de Pablo Helguera, que reúne perspectivas de las distintas artes y ciencias sociales sobre el fenómeno global de las telenovelas. La información sobre la exposición está acá.

El 29 de abril es el último día de esta exposición, y la entrada es libre con su credencial de estudiante. Si gustan hacer un trabajo de puntos extras sobre la exposición, ahí nos ponemos de acuerdo. Si gustan llevar acompañantes, son bienvenidos. Nos vemos allá.

Hola estudiantes,

Sé que esta mañana les dije que nos vemos el viernes, pero resulta que voy a llevar a mis alumnos de Historia a Hidalgo ese día desde las 6 AM. CAR: Final Project, Vogue Conflict & Reconstruction

For this project, you will create a commemorative edition of Vogue magazine based on a topic from the class.

Each edition of Vogue should have
1. A cover with the proper logo and a human subject that is related to the topic, and
2. At least one 500 to 600-word article per person.

For the articles, you may choose to write either a feature article about a specific perspective on the topic itself or an account of an exclusive (fictional) interview with a historical figure or a character from the novel belonging to each topic where you use the novel as a historical source to explain a perspective on the topic at hand.

Each team in every group has to turn in one cover per team and at least one article per person. This means that if a team has one person, they have to make both the cover and the article. If the team has two people, the same cover counts for both of them, but each person should write and design one article.

The cover will be a team grade (15% of the overall project) and the articles will have an individual grade (85% of the overall project), so each article must specify their author and sources. Each person's grade will be generated as follows:

Rubric:
Cover has a human subject that is related to the team's topic, the correct Vogue logo (available at this link), and at least the title(s) of the article(s) written for the project.	15%
Article has a specific main idea. It has to be a complete sentence and clearly communicated in the introduction.	20%
Article has a development where all the elements of the main idea are explained.	20%
Article has a conclusion that justifies the main idea of the essay. It has to be a complete sentence and clearly communicated at the end of the article.	20%
500-600 words, not including the title, subtitle, or byline.	10%

The project should be turned in on Google Drive on Monday, April 24, 2017, before midnight. Late assignments, articles without sources, and e-mailed assignments will have an automatic zero.

RIRC: Visita de Christian Schreiber (Abril 3)

Por pura coincidencia, este semestre las dos visitas de colegas RRII fueron seguidas.

El día de hoy nos visita Christian Schreiber. Él estudia LRI ahorita aquí en el Tec y es actualmente asistente de la doctora Parraguez, igual que Gina y yo cuando estudiábamos aquí.

Christian es arquero, practicante de Aikido y volleybol, fotógrafo, viajero y lector. Hoy viene a hablarnos específicamente de la importancia de la negociación en las relaciones internacionales, sobre todo en el área que le interesa a él, que es el contraterrorismo y el estudio de conflictos.

Si bien su plática tiene un tema, les recomiendo que aprovechen su visita para preguntarle cosas que les interesen sobre la carrera. La vez que vino Gina parecían tener muchas preguntas sobre cómo es estudiar LRI ahorita, así que Christian es la persona perfecta para responderlas.
