- Legislatura: A period of 3 years in which the people elected to be members of Mexico's Congress exercise the powers of the Legislative Branch of Mexico's government. Senators are elected for two consecutive legislatures and may be reelected for an additional one, while Deputees are elected for one and may be reelected for up to three additional consecutive legislaturas. The legislative reelection limit is 12 years.
